My tree spoke to me today...

As I sat outside, taking a moment to connect with myself, nature, journal and drink some Cacao set with some pretty powerful intentions...I heard something different. I didn't hear the traffic. I didn't hear the planes. I heard birds, observed squirrels, a Monarch Butterfly nearly fly into my hair and a soft whisper in the breeze. I heard my big Poplar tree speak!

This was not a normal rustling of the leaves mind you, this was different. In fact, I actually got up out of my chair and walked right under the tree to see if there was an animal or a bird making the chitter chatter I was hearing. And nothing. I saw nothing. So I took a moment and paused. What was this tree telling me?

This tree is wise. It's been standing in my yard for over 30 years for Pete's sake and had a lot to say. This tree just be's. It doesn't DO. It holds space, it doesn't rush. It flows with the breeze; it doesn't resist it. The message was clear...slow down, pay attention and be present.

So, I did. I closed my eyes, paused and breathed. I grounded myself right then and there barefoot in the grass. I realized I was rushing, hurrying to get to my 'next thing'. I decided to NOT rush through my morning routine so I could work out, get to my chores and go, go, go. Instead, here I am sharing this message to YOU. Because honestly, I think it reins true for ALL of us.

It was just the message I needed for today mainly because I have a busy week coming up and feel the pressure of getting all my 'to do's, to done'! How ironic, (it never is) that a Monarch butterfly, which spiritually means transformation and new beginnings, almost hit me in the head. How ironic (it never is) that the Full Moon in Cancer is on Tuesday which reminds us self-care is self-preservation, not selfishness. And how ironic (it never is), that Cancer is a Cardinal sign which represents initiation and new beginnings. 🤯 I'm telling ya, you just can't make it up!
